Alyssa Feldman, of WPS, will discuss a newly patented approach for using data to predict trends in billing practices and discover cases of fraud and abuse within the Medicare program. She promises fun case studies demonstrating how analytics can be used to drive decision making, and as important, she will explain how we can measure and demonstrate value and savings from those activities.

Alyssa Feldman is the Principal Statistician for Data Science & Predictive Analytics with WPS Health Solutions, leading a team responsible for advanced analytics and forecasting in Medicare data. With experience in medical software development and employing statistical techniques in both business and healthcare environments, her current work focuses on analytics to improve operational efficiency, direct executive decision making, and detect fraud, waste, and abuse. With a savings of more than $40M dollars in 2018,  Alyssa’s work demonstrates how passionate and creative analytics can leverage data to navigate the operational landscape and realize measurable success.  Alyssa holds an ScM in Biostatistics from Brown University.

We will be meeting at the Nordby Building on the WPS Main Campus. It’s the gray building with the blue trim on the east side of the campus.  The parking lot is around the back (not the ramp).
